School and Program Improvement The School and Program Improvement Department, previously called School Quality Reviews & Improvement Planning (SQRIP) Department was established in 1999 to support the continuous improvement of all schools within the Saint Paul Public School (SPPS) District by:
- conducting School Quality Audits in order to assess and report on the continuous improvement efforts of each school in the district and to provide follow-up support services to schools identified as needing assistance
- providing the framework for and supporting SPPS schools and programs as they develop their School Comprehensive Improvement Plan (SCIP) each year
In addition, the SQRIP Department also:
- conducts Charter School Quality Reviews of those charter schools sponsored by the SPPS District
- organizes the coordination of multi-departmental support services provided to schools identified as not making Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in connection with the No Child Left Behind legislation
