Saint Paul Public Schools is dedicated to holding itself accountable for continuous improvement. The Office of Accountability is responsible for ensuring that our teachers, staff and schools are preparing all students for a premium education and successful lives.
The Office of Accountability, which includes the departments of Research, Evaluation and Assessment, School and Program Improvement, and Title I/Funded Programs supports schools, programs and departments in their efforts to attain district, state and federal accountability goals and objectives.
The functions of the office include, but are not limited to, administration of standardized examinations, analysis of student enrollment and performance data, program evaluation, oversight and monitoring of federal entitlement grants, provision of supplemental educational services, review and monitoring of school improvement efforts, and overall analysis to support data-driven decision-making.
Shared Accountability Framework--(SAF)
As you know, the Saint Paul community identified “shared accountability” as a high priority during the strategic planning process. This framework responds to community demand and completes action step J1 in the Strategic Plan Implementation Guide: to “develop a model of shared accountability in SPPS, including clear expectations for students, staff, parents and community members” (p.11). The framework also meets the requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001.
The ultimate goal of our efforts is to increase student achievement. This framework is intended to provide a comprehensive approach to supporting and monitoring our progress toward that end. Please review these documents below and consider how they will inform your planning and practice for the coming school year.
The Shared Accountability Framework will guide our future school improvement efforts, beginning with the 2008-09 school year.
